CACHE: Park and grab.
HISTORY: Sometimes referred to as the "Burley district school", Sandhill was established before 1863. High on the hill, it overlooked the mill operations on Long Lake. Many of the older male students attended part time due to working at the Lathrup and Drum mill. They didn't have the child labor laws they do now, and school was only mandatory through 8th grade. The school closed in the late 1940's, early 1950's, and is a residence today, fully restored on the outside to look like it once did. Photos attached.
