Caching Gear Traditional Cache

This cache leads you deep within Holmdel Park's lesser-known Ramanessin section, acquired in 2001. We've placed a large ammo can originally stuffed with gear to use for your own cache hides. Expect to get your feet wet or muddy, so don't wear dress shoes!

I suggest you start your bushwhack at N 40° 21.634' W 74° 10.501' on the blue-blazed Ramanessin Trail.

$pyker907 proposed the idea a few years ago (like 2013) to hide a large container where cachers could exchange gear to use for their own cache hides. We encourage you to drop your unwanted cache-hiding gear (in good condition) and exchange for gear in the container to place a new hide.

Holmdel Park is one of the flagship parks of the Monmouth County Parks System. Nearly one million visitors enjoy this 565-acre site each year. Holmdel Park features historic Longstreet Farm, the David C. Shaw Arboretum, picnic areas, four tennis courts, two playgrounds, and miles of trails including the Ramanessin Trail that you probably took to get to this cache!

Off-road bicycling is allowed on the trails of the Ramanessin Preserve section. The southern end of the Ramanessin section connects to Bayonet Farm and the Ramanessin Greenway Nature Trail -- both are Holmdel Township parks.
