Just because … some (well – a few) cachers had actually indicated they enjoyed GC49YXA and GC4XN9A.
Just because … new cachers’ names have been added to Canada’s Capital Cachers Local Leaderboard.
Just because … there was spot for a cache near one of my favourite features of our lovely village of Manotick.
Just because … I happened to biking past here with a cache in my pocket.
And mainly … just because I obviously have too much time on my hands.
Solve the puzzle below by writing in the names of cachers from the Leaderboard that are evoked by each of the clues (ignore any digits in their names).
Convert the first letter of each of the 9 cachers’ names in the “Across” list to its alpha-numeric value (A=1, B=2, etc.), total these values (not their digital roots), multiply this total by the value of the first letter of #13 Across, subtract 102 and divide the result by 1000 to get the decimal minutes of the cache’s North coordinates.
Similarly, total the values of the first letters of the 10 cachers’ names in the “Down” list, multiply this total by the value of the first letter of #7 Down, subtract 79 and divide the result by 1000 to get the decimal minutes of the West coordinates.
NOTE!! As of Feb 24, 2017 the names for #8 and #14 Down have disappeared from the Leaderboard. They "were" ZigZagJr and spunchick respectively. Sorry for any angst this has caused
You can check your coordinates at the Geocheck.
