This cache is a large ammo can placed along the Whippoorwill Trail. This trail is easily identified by it's yellow color on your trail map. Poinsett State Park has done something special with their trail markings: they color-coded them to the trail map! This trail has yellow signs, blazes, and mile markers to help you stay on the right path while you're out hiking!
And, while out hiking, why not grab a few caches? Ranger Zabo helped me find perfect hiding spots for a few caches in this park, and is very enthusiastic about adding more in the future! As always, cache smartly. Be safe, and have fun! Do your best to reduce the impact on the environment when you're searching for caches in the park.
Finally, Ranger Zabo wishes to inform cachers of the possible dangers of this park, such as snakes, ticks, poisonous plants, and even an alligator in the lake!
