Geocache Description:

I've decided to start a series in honor of my furkids, past and present. This cache is named, Ozzy, after our dog, Ozzy. He was a very spirited springer spaniel that we loved very much. He was such a clever boy, and LOVED to get into our garbage when we were gone. We put a childproof lock on the garbage cupboard, but it only took a few days, and he had it figured out, and was back in business. We tried several varities and brands of locks on that cupboard, but he managed to pop them all. Finally, we decided to put the garbage on top of our refrigerator. That was the only way we could keep him out of it. We kept it there for years!

Ozzy was loved by my mother and father-in-law, and would go to their lake home to spend weekends with them when we went out of town. He once got into 5 pounds of hamburger my mother-in-law had thawing in the sink. He ate it as fast as he could, and then proceeded to puke it up on their living room carpet. I still smile when I think of that fiasco! Haha!

Ozzy was an amazing bird hunter (I'm told by my husband). He was my husband's hunting partner, and would bark and whine the minute my husband pulled out his shot gun and hunting gear. Ozzy would hunt all day until he could hardly stand up, and then he would crawl into the truck and snooze the entire way home.

Ozzy was the most loyal dog I could have asked for. He was always by my side, and slept in bed with us every night. He was good with kids, and loved everyone he met. We miss him every day, and I will never find another dog like him. He crossed the rainbow bridge after suffering from seizures. It was so hard for us because he was our baby. So, my sweet puppy, this cache is for you. I love you, Buddy.
