The Yuen Long Police Station was unveiled on 20 October 1965, and was the biggest modern police station in the New Territories at that time.
When the Yuen Long Station was built, smaller Police stations such as Shatin, Tai Po, Pat Heung, Lau Fau Shan, Shuen Wan were all under the supervision of the Yuen Long Police Station.
The Yuen Long Police Station replaced the old Ping Shan Police Staion in 1965. The old Ping Shan Police station is now a culture centre of the Tang's tribe in Yuen Long Area.
