CACHE CHANGED*: Small, log book only. Watch for people on horses. This is horse country. *12-8-17 This cache was moved due to it's host falling apart. I left the DT rating as it was for the original hide because I didn't want to mess things up for those who were here before. Today the cache is a 1/1.5 and a park and grab.
HISTORY: At this intersection just beyond the double arrow sign was the location of the only known church for the town of Whigville (for more information see cache GC6CDHW GT-Whigville). It was here a late as 1936. It is unknown what happened to the structure. Maps mostly designated it as a church, two maps labeled it as a Methodist Episcopal denomination. I wonder if the old apple tree here was planted when the church was still standing. Only the cemetery and school, both down Hough to the east, and a few original homes remain. The rest of the town is gone or reduced to foundations.
