To most, this seems like a normal open space, but to members of the Hawkeye Marching Band this area is known as the "Old HMB Field". Why? because prior to the building of our new facility and practice field in 2014, this was where the HMB rehearsed their pre-games, halftimes, and practiced technique during the infamous "hell week" in mid-August. Many great memories were made and many incredible shows were rehearsed on this field. The cache's name comes from the response of an HMB member after two short and one long whistle from the drum major.
Parking can be found along Grove St. (enter from Riverside, it's a one-way) or in the Hancher parking lot. Bring your own pen and be careful. Make sure to check out the log too! Good luck and go Hawks!
