UPDATED August 2, 2017!

The Lenox Library Hours:

From Labor Day to Memorial Day

Tuesdays 10AM-8PM

Wednesday to Saturday 10AM-5PM

From Memorial Day to Labor Day

Tuesday to Saturday 10AM-5PM

The Library is closed on holidays.

There is an elevator availible for wheelchair access to each floor of the library.

The cache is not at the listed coordinates.  However, it is hidden in plain sight within the walls of the Lenox Library.  You will need to answer the listed questions in order to locate the cache.

A - Before entering the library find your way to N42 21.499 W073 17.077 and count the number of spokes on one of the wheels.

B - Across from the checkout desk there is a small entryway to another area of the library.  There are two statues inside this entryway.  Find “Puck.”  how many legs does the item in his right hand have? HINT:  you may not be able to see every leg it has. However there are an even number of legs.

C - Find the Shakespeare Corner.  You will know you are there because there is a large globe with a plaque above it labeling it as such.  There is a sonnet of Shakespeare’s quoted on the plaque.  What sonnet was it?

D - Find the number portion of the Library's address on Main St.   (UPDATED: Apr 8, 2019).

E - In the Reading Room you will find a bust of Robert Sedgwick.  Find the day in the month of June on which he was born.  Divide that number by the day in the month of September when he died.

F - Looking at the rotunda from inside the Dome Room, how many flowers (see below) are painted on it?  Use the photo to your advantage. Only the flowers in the circle pictured should be counted, it is a single digit number.

G - There is a Grandfather clock (by Sam Cousmin) on the upper level.  What number does the hour (small) hand point to?   If in doubt, choose an odd number. UPDATE 10/30/2016: This particular question has caused difficulty for many cachers. There are two grandfather clocks on the two different upper levels of the library. If the time reflected on the clock you are looking at is 4:20, you are looking at the wrong clock. The appropriate clock reflects the time of 1:29. However, when looking at the hour hand think about what number it is pointing to as far as minutes are concerned. If I have confused you even further, then here is another hint. The number you are looking for is the same number of days in the week that end in the letter "y".

You are looking for a three digit number followed by a two digit number with a decimal point in between.  This is a library call number and is where you will find the letterbox cache.  For example:  987.65 (this is not the call number you are looking for)

(A-B-12)(C-D+1)E.(F-G)(F-G)

UPDATE July 16, 2016: I updated the clock question so there is (hopefully) no more confusion.

UPDATE August 2, 2017: I updated Question D as the original artifact is no longer on display.

UPDATE April 8, 2019: I updated Question D (again) as the second artifact is no longer on display. The formula at the end of the puzzle has also been updated.
