Event will be held at the Yankaurer's Nature Preserve on Saturday afternoon July 16th at 1 pm. Event should only last about 1/2 hour or so. Parking is limited, so carpool if you can. After the event we will walk to the cave. If you go to the CAVE afterwards you should plan on it taking several hours.
We have had 6 other events like this and they have been met with great success. At the last event we had visitors from 8 states. Let's do it again!
This will be an educational event for those with a more adventurous spirit. Let's get together and share ideas on the proper preparation and equipment needed to go Geocaching in a CAVE!
This event is being held about .8 of a mile from the CAVE cache GC2MD1H . After this event, you can try out your new skills. The Cave is a premium member cache. 
When spelunking, what equipment would be "nice to have", but more importantly what equipment would you never want to forget? What is proper spelunking ediqutte? What do you wear in a cave? What does a grigri do, what is the difference between a climbing rope and a static line? Which do you use in a cave? Please, bring your equipment for "show and tell".
All these topics and more will be discussed.
Hope you can join us. Snurt is always there to help and this year Sonya Federuk has agreed to come along. Sonya is MUCH more experienced at this kind of thing than we are, we are so happy she has agreed to help us.
From the event to the CAVE you most likely will be walking to the cave so wear comforable shoes. If there is a family member who wants to attend but not go into the Cave, its always nice to have someone willing to shuttle geocachers back and forth from the cave to Yankaurers.
We hope to take one group go in the entrance and a more adventurous group go in the exit and belay down a 20 ft wall into the main area.
