This year’s event will happen on Saturday, August 27, beginning at 10:00am. We have a new location again this year and it should meet with much approval. Our meeting location is at the Allann Bros warehouse, 1852 Fescue St. SE (N 44 37.497 W 123 03.645), just up the street from Phoenix Inn where we hosted the “2016 Art & Air Night Glow Meet & Greet” (GC6KP9V) on Friday, August 26 from 5-7pm. There will be plenty of parking.
As in previous years, a challenge course has been determined and each geocaching household will be issued a challenge passport beginning at 10:00am. The course has been carefully laid out so that you will also have the opportunity to find caches in the area. There have been lots of new ones placed since our event last year.
Completed passports can be brought to All Star Pizza, 231 SE Lyon St. (N 44 38.161 W 123 06.270) between 3:00 and 6:00pm the day of the event. This is the same location as the last five years but under new management. PLEASE NOTE – THIS IS A ONE DAY EVENT. We have ordered 175 coins again this year.
Again this year, we plan to give away many very nice door prizes during the 3:00 to 6:00pm coin distribution as part of the “IT’S A WRAP 4” (GC6KTJ7) event. These prizes are donated by many of our local businesses.
A visual highlight this year will be for you to see the construction progress for the new Albany Carousel building. The old location has been torn down and a new facility is being built to hold the completed carousel.
