Summer is almost here which means the nautical theme is everywhere! Movies, clothing, decorations, toys, you name it. This cache has been placed for love of all things nautical, especially wildlife. In this park and beach I have personally seen horseshoe crabs, ground hogs, herons, black birds, cormorants, white tail deer, and lots of fish I don't know the name of! Feel free to include in the logs any wildlife in this park you see or have seen! Pictures welcome too!
In addition to being a spot with amazing views, the Conference House also has an amazing historical background. It is the site of a failed peace conference between the British and the Revolutionary Americans in 1776. The house was built around 1680. It is worth checking out even if you don't want to find this cache or the others nearby! They have plenty of events year round, including a free run/walk on Sunday mornings at 9am
Anyway, you are looking for a small container with a small stamp (that I thought had a fish on it based on the sticker when I bought it!), small stamp pad, log book and original swag is small and nautical themed.
BYOP. Stamp and stamp pad are NOT swag, please leave in container after you have stamped your book!
Have fun, and remember just keep swimming!
There is nearby parking at the park's lot, or on the streets. It is approximately a 15 minute walk from the Tottenville train station, and the s78 and s59 buses have nearby stops!
