Geocache Description:

In view to the southeast you will see reminants of structures that were constructed by the Penitente Brotherhood. They would build on land that they deemed as sacred. There were many religious groups who migrated through this area who felt this was hallowed ground. The area around the buildings is a religious site and is closed to the public, so please be mindful of that.

-You will need a State Parks pass-

Be aware of Rattle Snakes

Here in Longs Canyon you can see elk, mule deer, black bear and plenty of other wildlife. There are terrific viewing blinds that you can observe lots of bird life. North, up the canyon is one of the best examples of the KT boundry. There is some great hikes around the park but please be respectful of the other visitors. Stay quiet if you would like to see some wildlife.

After a short hike and reflecting on the significance of this land mark, you will be searching for something that blends into its surroundings but does not belong. The cache is a 35mm film canister that should be high and dry. Enjoy the hide; we had alot of fun with this one.
