UPDATE: DUE TO LOCATION OF THIS CACHE I WOULD STRONGLY URGE CACHERS NOT TO LEAVE TRACKABLES IN THIS LETTERBOX, THIS CACHE IS USUALLY REPLACED ABOUT TWICE A YEAR, AND IT WOULD BE A SHAME TO LOSE ANY TRACKABLES
So what is letterboxing and why is it so special?
Letterboxing is an intriguing “treasure hunt” style outdoor activity. Letterboxers hide small, weatherproof boxes in publicly accessible places (like parks) and post clues to finding the box online on one of several Web sites. However, clues to finding some of the most highly sought boxes are passed around by word of mouth.
There are about 90,000 active letterboxes hidden in North America alone. Individual letterboxes usually contain a log book, an often hand-carved rubber stamp and occasionally contain an ink pad. Finders make an imprint of the letterbox’s stamp on their personal log book, and leave an imprint of their personal stamp on the letterbox’s logbook.
I have continued on my 101 Letterboxing series to Add Clues to help you find the cache. It is very simple and straight forward but has enough challenge to make it interesting. If you really need help continue to read the hints after the clues.
The Clues
Your cache is between two Bridges, travel beyond the Bladdernut, traveling past the Easter Red Cedar. Travel past the White Ash, the Redbud and the Russian Olive. Face the great White oak and turn yourself about. Before you is a natural stair case that leads you to the slanted limestone. Yield to the right where the stream bends, and take a look down under, your prize awaits among the shadows of stone and light.
The Hints
Before you take a look at the hints, really give it your best effort on finding this with the clues provided. In order to find my harder letter boxes clues will be even more obscure and puzzles will be more difficult to find. But if at last you are really stuck highlight the section below to revile the hints. There are only two hints given the first is basic and the 2nd will give you cords to GZ.
