Geocache Description:

This cache placement is in recognition of BlindReff’s 500th cache find. I am not saying that was long time ago, but last time I checked he was approaching 18,500 finds...

Update October 12, 2024: At posted coordinates find an obvious label (looks permanent, and was installed by someone else). Do not touch any equipment or fixtures. Use only sharp eyes. Observe two series of numbers:

ABCDBCE

AFAG-AC-AH

Substitute numbers to get final coordinates as follows:

N 35 21.DHG W 080 37.GFB

Enjoy the park. Viewing the history display and sound making display at the new "barn" along the way to walking to the final is strongly suggested.

DO NOT PARK ALONGSIDE THE ROAD

Original Description (See update above):

Park hours are: April - October 8:00AM to 10:00PM. November - March... (M-F) 8:00AM to 5:00PM (S&S) 9:00AM to 6:00PM

This is a 5-stage cache involving a short drive but it can easily be done in less than an hour. Most of the clues are easy drive-bys. The first stage is a short walk. The final is a longer walk from the parking lot at the tennis courts. DO NOT PARK ALONG THE ROAD!!!!!

YOU MUST HAVE A MAGNIFYING GLASS to read the clues once you find them, but even a blind ref could find the cache. All of the clues are similar.

During the summer of 2003, BlindReff was trying to get me to get into this geocaching thing he was doing. He would bring it up from time to time but I had other things going on. Besides, those GPS units weren’t cheap. Well finally, one August weekend I was headed out to Morrow Mountain State Park for some camping and fishing on Lake Tillery. I had to stop by the Wal-Mart in Albemarle for some supplies, so I decided to buy a Magellan Sport Trak Map. During that camping trip I learned how to use the thing, unaware that it would soon consume my life. A couple of weeks later, I found my first geocache and I was hooked immediately. Now, thousands of cache finds later I have lots of new friends and memories of geocache adventures in nearly every state east of the Mississippi – and a few on the other side. Thanks pal, for introducing me to this great adventure.

DO NOT PARK ALONGSIDE THE ROAD - Ranger Rick will get you if you do and that would compromise the geocache! This cache is here with permission - let's not blow it. Just past the final cache location turn left and go park by the tennis courts.
