LibraryCache1 Multi-Cache

The first cache is a laminated page with instructions to lead you to the next cache. Originally, stop one would lead you inside but since we are only open by appointment right now, we've made an adjustment! Now both parts are accessible outside anytime you'd find yourself geocaching! (The container isn't as fun but really it's all about the hunt, right?)

In June 2016, the Ellsworth Public Library introduced two GPS devices into circulation for our patrons to check out. Anyone with a library card can come down and pick one up for a week of local, casual geocaching or arrange an extended checkout for camping trips/vacations.

To promote the devices and the game in our community, we are in the process of placing several new local caches. This is our first! Experienced cachers, we would love to hear some feedback about your experiences, favorite cache finds, and your experience with ours to help give us more ideas for future placements.

We are excited to get involved and hope to teach some of our friends and neighbors about the healthy, environment-friendly treasure hunt! After all, this year's library summer theme is health and wellness!
