Looking to the Very End of Jumpingpound Ridge:
Approaching from the west, follow the very well defined Jumpingpound Mountain trail. Summit Jumpingpound Mountain - you should see the very end of the ridge well to the east. It's a wide open ridge with trees down low (not the big rocky ridge of Moose Mountain behind). Between Jumpingpound Mountain and the end of the ridge are 4 hills that you will need to climb up and down (both ways!). Although the total elevation gain should not seem like 1,000 meters, climbing up and down these 4 hills adds a lot of gain.
From Jumpingpound Mountain, drop down along a trail and climb up Hill 1. From Hill 1, a trail snakes down through the trees and some rocky steps. A trail leads up to Hill 2. Again, a nice trail descends Hill 2 and follows down into the forest. Don't follow the trail between Hills 2 and 3 all the way or you will drop off of the ridge. Instead, turn right and follow the treed ridge until it opens up to the top of Hill 3. About 100 meters from the end of Hill 3, drop down to the east. This offers an easier descent than following all the way to the end of Hill 3. Finally, follow the gradual ridge of Hill 4 all the way to the End of Jumpingpound Ridge! The views are magnificent. Good luck!
