Geocache Description:

I decided to replace the container at Tree View #2 and check on XTerra.  What an incredible surprise as Veganmimi and I got to Xterra.  There was yet another old WWII Bunker straight in front of us!! And something was shining at the opening of it.  The only thing was… how to get there!  It’s actually about halfway between XTerra and JimP59’s King of all Rocks. The easiest point of entry is starting down the roadway to JimP59’s rock and then head off to the right.  I’ve marked a small ironwood tree beside the roadway and another tree just a short way up a little ridge. (See the waypoint coords)

This isn’t a ‘PnG’ like the other 4 bunkers can be (If you drive off-road up here).  It’s about 512 ft. from the roadway.  But this is another unique quansett hut.  It is full of old stuff!!  It looks like it stored stuff for the mess hall!! The shiny thing we saw from a distance is an old stainless steel oven. There are more inside.

The container is hidden just outside the bunker to the right of the doorway.  It’s another micro L&L.

There are five old quanset hut bunkers in this area.  They are really quite an historic thing to see.  Along this access roadway are nice scenic overlooks, and an access to numerous hiking trails and waterfalls.  Yet in the midst are these memories from a bygone era.

It’s time for some adventure… Happy Caching.
