Geocache Description:

"Great Western Cattle Trail"

The "Great Western Cattle Trail" was one of the most famous and most used of the cattle trails.  It started southwest of Bandera, Texas and went as far north as the Dakotas. It was also called "The Dodge City Trail" and "The Old Texas Trail". It has been estimated that as many as 11 to 12 million longhorn cattle and one million horses used this trail. There is a lot of more information on this monument. Also, as stated on this monument. if you look to the south-southeast, you can see the "U" shaped cut in these sand hills. This is where the trail came through here. Please take and post some pictures.
