Recently, an Orange stray cat showed up in our backyard. Very sickly and starved and flea and tick ridden with a bubble on his cheek that looked pretty sore. Couldn't resist giving him some food, he was so weak from hunger and it was so hot outside. We didn't intend to take him in, but that's exactly what we ended up doing. After feeding him that one time, we left for three days to go camping. We figured he'd move on, being a stray and all. He never left our yard, in fact, he made himself right at home at our back door. My sister was feeding our cat for us while we were gone and when I called her she told me that the orange cat was still there and needed help. She fed him too and I considered calling shelters. But on Monday Mr put off work and took him to the veterinarian. He got all his shots and some antibiotics for an infection on his cheek. He had some ticks removed and got some flea and tick treatment, he also got neutered and a nail trim. That's a lot in one day for a poor sickly cat. They asked for his name for the file and Mr FarrishFam said the first name that popped into his head. JEFF. (he swears that's what he heard our son call him, lol) actually our son had called him Paul, lol. I had called him LO (little orange) so, anyway, they called him Jeff at the vet all day (between their giggles and snickers about what a funny name for a cat) and now the name has stuck, and he even seems to know that it's his name already. Obviously we're keeping him, Mr calls him Big Money Jeff, lol, because of the Vet bill. He is healed up and starting to gain a little weight, seems very glad to be inside with a family and Dog and another cat. So that's an awful long story for a micro cache, lol. Please share in your Log, if you'd like, your pets names and how they got their name and/or your story of rescuing an animal that became your pet. Have fun getting this cache.
