We spent a wonderful holiday in the great place Gradac on Makarska Riviera in 2016. As great geocaching fans we went right after our arrival in search of beautiful caches. But there were only two caches in Gradac, one of them out of function.
So we decided to set up a new cache. We located the cache at the formerly and leaving little village Cista, near Gradac and below the Rilic mountains, which fascinated us as “lost place". In the 16th century the buildings have been used as a Turkish administrative seat. Today there are only some ruins left.
While hiking to the cache location you have a great look over Gradac, the sea and the surrounding islands. If you want, you can continue the walk, for example to Briest or to the mountain Sv. Paskal.
There is not much shadow on the way, so it could be really hot. On hot days it is recommended to take sufficient water with you.
We deposit some pencils, ball pens and a logbook in a box and hide it outside the buildings. CAUTION: It is not recommended to enter de ruins! The cache is located outside the ruins of the buildings.

Wir haben im Jahr 2016 einen wundervollen Urlaub im tollen Ort Gradac an der Markarska Riviera verbracht. Als große Geocaching-Fans machten wir uns direkt nach unserer Ankunft auf die Suche nach schönen Caches. Nur leider gab es in dem Ort bislang ganze zwei Caches, davon war einer außer Funktion.
Also haben wir uns überlegt, einen neuen Cache anzulegen. Als Ort haben wir uns den verlassenen Weiler Cista ausgesucht, der unterhalb des Rilic-Gebirges liegt und uns als „lost place“ fasziniert hat. Zu entdecken gibt es einige halb verfallene Natursteinhäuser und eine Wehrturmruine aus dem 16 Jahrhundert, die zu einem einst türkischen Verwaltungssitz gehörten.
Während der Wanderung durch die Olivenhaine hat man einen tollen Ausblick auf Gradac, das Meer und die umliegenden Inseln. Von Cista aus könnt Ihr je nach Lust und Kondition weiter wandern, z.B. nach Briest oder hoch zum Berg Sv. Paskal.
Es gibt nicht besonders viel Schatten auf dem Weg zum Cache, zur Mittagszeit kann es entsprechend warm werden. Denkt daran, ausreichend Trinkwasser für die Wanderung mitzunehmen.
Wir haben einige Bleistifte und Kugelschreiber sowie ein ausreichend großes Logbuch in einer Box deponiert und außerhalb der Gebäude(Ruinen) versteckt. Wir raten davon ab, die alten Gebäude zu betreten! Das ist nicht notwendig, um den Cache zu finden, und kann ggf. gefährlich sein!

++ Hinweis. Aktuell gibt es kein Logbuch. Vielleicht kann ja jemand eines hinterlegen. Wir haben leider keine Möglichkeit, da wir zu weit weg wohnen ++
