Growing up in Gillams on the North Shore of the Bay of Islands, there was a beach of quaking aspen trees just outside of town. Not surprisingly, it's known as "Apsy Beach", not "Aspy Beach" or "Aspen Beach". Who says we need to pronounce the letters in the order in which a word is spelled?!? ;) No matter. whenever I see a stand of aspen or hear their leaves quaking in the wind, it reminds me of my hometown.
This cache is just off of the Long Pond trail. While it is not 100% wheelchair accessible in my opinion, it is very close to being rated as accessible. So come out, enjoy the walk, and the look and the sound of the few aspen in the breeze here.
