Geocache Description:

The 24th installment in the Rest n' Peace - Centre County series takes you to the Friends Cemetery, one of the few cemeteries to remain small yet active in an almost 200 year history.

A. Pomeroy's 'Atlas of Centre County - From Actual Surveys' (1874) clearly notes this cemetery's location, as seen below.

The first extant burial was in 1822, with a large portion of early burials occurring in the first 40 years of the cemetery. After that, the number interred per year slowed and varied widely, but unlike many small plot burial grounds in Centre County it never ceased. The most recent as of the publishing of this cache (Summer '16), was just a few weeks ago.

The cache itself should be an easy find, as the area offers little in the way of hiding locations and I'll never have you digging or overturning anything to make the find. Should you need assistance, the hint is a complete giveaway.

As with any cemetery cache, please be respectful of those interred here.
