Geocache Description:

But which one? You are seeking a large-ish small cache in Grams Regional Park and while finding the cache is one thing, signing the log is an entirely different matter. The difficulty rating takes into account the challenging nature of signing the log, and the terrain is rated for the journey to GZ.

Important Note: If you're going to claim this smiley, please be certain that you leave your mark on the log and that you are able to replace the hide as you found it.

Your journey to find this cache will bring you before two great beacons. Well, it would have, had you visited Grams park prior to July 22, 2022. This is because it was, on this date, that the Sherburne County Parks department executed a controlled burn across the meadowed areas of the park. While we're not sure why the decades-old pine tree - the partner to the oak tree - had to come down, but the deed has been done, there's no going back.

You will have to imagine that you are standing before a mighty pine and a mighty oak tree. As you stand before these silent, woody sentinels, you may find yourself wondering how long they've been here or, if while they were growing up, they were good friends or bitter rivals? Was one a popular tree within the tree community, and the other one a nerd tree? Did they share the same likes and dislikes? Whatever the case, whatever their history, it's the here and now which matter and there's a cache to be found and logged. On the plus side, there's really no question as to which beacon you should be looking at.

RIP Mighty Pine Brother
