Geocache Description:

This is a library cache, of a sort. It is (5' 6" person) head high, a few feet from the sidewalk.

The renovated Cape Girardeau Public Library re-opened its doors on 16 May 2009. This library isn't merely a dusty old repository for books; it is a vibrant place where members of the community can come for group meetings and library programs, to use computers, and, yes, to check out books. Step inside to find architecture taking its theme from the Mississippi River. Areas for children and teens are straight ahead, whilst adult services are found to your right, at the end of the River.

The library staff is friendly, and can help you with your library needs. (A couple of them are geocachers.) If you have a library card from this library, why not check out a few books whilst you are here?

The cache, however, is not to be found inside the library. To get the smiley, you will have to journey outside. Follow the sidewalk, leaving it only when you think you are close to a tiny library; one used by our feathered friends.

Please do not park in the driveway to the book return.
