Geocache Description:

- This cache a medium sized Tupperware container at ankle level.

- Please use the car park by the rugby club.

This cache is along one of the three small pathways to leading to The Ice House within Monivea Demesne in East Galway. The Ice House was built by the Ffrench family and was essentially the estate's refrigerator. Over winter ice and snow was collected from the nearby river and stored in the Ice House. This enabled the storage of perishable foods prior to refrigeration. The entrance was repaired in 2000 and a grille installed for safety. Monivea Woods is perfect for walking and picnicing.
