It always amazes me that if I organise an event in a pub 10 people with turn up but if I set one ot top of a hill in the middle of nowhere 30 people attend.
I suppose that defines the type of people who like to geocache.
The actual equinox is 4 days earlier so by now the nights will be drawing in LOL.
The event will start at 11.45am on Sunday 25th September 2016, and will end at 12.15pm, though we will stay longer if the weather is good.
Come prepared as it is an upland area, you will need waterproofs, warm clothing, proper footwear, emergency rations An OS map, and the ability to use a compass would also be an idea to prevent you getting lost, though the path from Horton in Ribblesdale is very well defined.. You will need an ability to navigate yourself to and from the event site, and an awareness of your own safety and limitations. I would also recommend that you bring some food and a warm drink, even though it is September.
Please be aware this is a serious undertaking, though there are good paths from the parking suggested. Hopefully though the sky will be clear and we will get a view of the towns and beautiful countryside down below.
Come up high and you will encounter this great hill Come along, have a chat and a laugh about caching, bring some TBs, pick up some TBs. All will be welcome. I will brink some cake too !!!!
For those wishing to walk in as a group, if you log ‘will attend’ and look for notifications a few days before I will let people know from where and when I intend to walk up to the event. The walk in will take at least 90 mins
As always with my events there will be a log book to sign (this is optional) and I will choose one lucky signatory at the end of the event who will be invited to claim FTF.
So I’m looking forward to meeting you on a hill, in the middle of nowhere, but what a hill.
