Geocache Description:

You're looking for the first nano cache placed by the CoventryHobbits. Please bring your own quill.

Isengard (meaning iron fortress) is a large fortress built in the northwest corner of Rohan during the second age of Middle Earth to guard the Fords of Isen from enemy incursions into Calensrdhon. In the third age (the age most familiar to non Middle Earth folk) Saruman the White became the guard of Isengard at the behest of the Steward of Gondor to help appease the hostilities between the Dunlendings and Rohirrim. With Saruman residing in Isengard as the Warden of the Tower the area quickly became known as the Valley of the Wizard. In later years, Saruman, taking advantage of Sauron's return and the resulting distraction of the Stewards, took Isengard for himself and became Lord of Isengard.  If you want to know more about this particular time of adventures, the CoventryHobbits implore you to familiarise yourself with JRR Tolkiens great work The Two Towers. As for the cache. This isn't quite Isengard, but the monument was erected in memory of philanthropist Joseph Levi, who helped the poor of Coventry and founded a philanthropic society in 1854. For more info, please read the board at mini-me Isengard. Please note that the cache is not on the memorial itself but hidden close by. The cache you are looking for is a nano and hopefully well hidden as this is a high muggle area, geo-kids could be a useful diversion here!! Please replace as found and bring your own pen.
