The Dog Off-Leash Area is a strip of land between the Riverview Ball Park and a backwater tributary of the Vermilion River, maintained by the Town of Vegreville for dog owners. Depending on when you visit, you may have to contend with two- and four-legged muggles, so be as stealthy as possible.
Instructions:
Enter the dog park and be sure to close the gate behind you. Head for the redhead some 20 paces away in a southeasterly direction. Once here, identify a good spot to observe your surroundings and go sit down there. From this vantage point, locate a large boulder in the grass and walk toward it, some 15-20 paces northeast. From this location you can make out the extent of the area that is maintained by the Town. Walk toward this perimeter and follow it north and west until you get up to the ridge. At the ridge you will see a metal fence. Count out 22 posts, then look for another good place to sit down. Have a seat and look to your left. About 10 paces away is the perimeter and some bushes. The geocache is located around the back of the largest bush.
If this is your first letterbox: this cache is like a normal geocache, but includes a stamp and inkpad. Cachers with their own stamps and stamp books use the stamp in this cache to stamp their own books, and leave their own stamp prints in this cache’s logbook. Whether or not you have your own stamp, you may log this as you would any other cache.
