Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Team WHO Bingo event

After putting our good old dog Jake to sleep this last winter we figured it was time to get a puppy to try to fill the void in our life after having a dog so many years.  We bought a little yellow lab puppy from a kennel in northern Minnesota.  We had Ruby for 3 weeks and things were going well till one night we were out walking her and had a little accident and she died :(  The kennel we got her from called a few days later to ask how Ruby was doing and we gave them the awful news.  They said they were sorry for us.  They called back a few minutes later and said they had a little Speacial Needs puppy that was born with an underdeveloped lung and that we could just have that one if we wanted it.  Being that it had lung issues they were not able to register her and/or sell her.  We could have her for free.  We called our vet and he said a free puppy does not really become a free puppy when it already has issues and will need vet care the rest of its life.  But we took the puppy anyway thinking if we could provide it with a loving home for even a year or two since with her lung issues she would more than likely not live its normal life expectancy.  After meeting the kennel owners half way on a saturday morning in April we brought Libby home.  After bringing her to our vet right away the following monday we found out she was full of pneumonia.  We got her on medicine and after 3 weeks of hard core medication we got the pneumonia cleared up and she's a perfectly normal puppy!  She was misdiagnosed!  she didn't have an under developed lung just was full of pneumonia!  Our vet said they would have just probably let the puppy go and it would have died within a week or two of us getting her if they did';t try and treat her...So now we have a very rambunctious English Choch. Lab in our lives. She's a handful but were getting along fine with her.  She has a fun personality...
