Geocache Description:

Chom Phra Khmer Ruins in Surin Province is one of the famous 102 'hospitals', which was named Arokayasala.

ปราสาทจอมพระเป็นหนึ่งใน 102 โรงพยาบาล ที่เรียกว่า อโรคยศาล

It's a smaller mahayana buddhist sanctuary built in laterite and sandstone with a small pool outside the inner wall. The ruin consists of four major unique components - front balcony, wall, crossed arch, and the pool.

The architecture of Prasat Hin Chom Phra is similar to Khmer’s Bayon Art during the reign of King Chai Woraman VII.

มีโครงสร้างที่ยังสมบูรณ์อยู่มาก ลักษณะของสิ่งก่อสร้าง อาคารต่าง ๆ ก่อด้วยศิลาแลงและใช้หินทรายประกอบ หันหน้าไปทางทิศตะวันออกมีส่วนประกอบหลัก 4 ส่วน ซึ่งเป็นลักษณะเฉพาะแบบอโรคยศาลดังที่พบในที่อื่น คือ ปรางค์ประธานรูปสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัสมีมุขหน้า บรรณาลัยหรืออาคารรูปสี่เหลี่ยมผืนผ้าตั้งอยู่ทางด้านหน้า มีกำแพงล้อมรอบพร้อมซุ้มประตูรูปกากบาทและสระน้ำนอกกำแพง

สถาปัตยกรรมของปราสาทหินจอมพระจะมีลักษณะตรงกับศิลปะขอมแบบบายน ซึ่งเป็นแบบศิลปะที่เจริญอยู่ในสมัยพระเจ้าชัยวรมันที่ 7 แห่งอาณาจักรขอม
