Il cimitero del Fiorentino fu costruito nel 1834 e rimase attivo fino al 1932. Per anni abbandonato, è stato in parte restaurato nel 2011 e attualmente, accanto a un lavoro continuo di manutenzione, si sta cercando di valorizzarne l'atmosfera attraverso l’inserimento di piante ed essenze spontanee.
Il cimitero sovrasta dal colle del Fiorentino il paese di Fiorano: un piccolo comune di circa 850 abitanti. Le origini del paese sono antiche: si trovano le prime tracce del luogo nei documenti storici dell'anno 1000, dove viene citato come Florano, ma il rinvenimento di incisioni rupestri, frammenti fittili e ceramici sul vicino monte di Cordola fanno pensare che una comunità abitasse questi luoghi già nel periodo del bronzo.
A fianco del Cimitero si trova la Cappella di San Grato, in stile barocco e di fronte a questa si apre un interessante panorama sul paese, sulla serra morenica e sui monti circostanti.
Lo stesso colle del Fiorentino risulta infine importante da un punto di vista geologico per le rocce visibili che, ad occhi esperti, recano traccia degli affioramenti presenti nella zona

An old cemetery: testament of a century of local history narrated through faded pictures, memorials and engraved epitaphs. An unusual place with a trascendental atmosphere, a space of peace that doesn't spread anguish and desperation but, through the care for the area and its green setting allows people to enjoy the silence and the load of history.
The cemetery of Fiorentino was built in 1834 and has been used until 1932. After being abandoned for years, it has been partly restored in 2011 and currently, next to continuous maintenance duties, people have been trying to enhance the area through the inclusion of wild plants.
The cemetery overlooks from Fiorentino hill the village of Fiorano: a little town populated by about 850 people. The village has got ancient origin: the first traces of the place have been found in the historical documents of the year 1000, where it's nomined as "Florano", but the discovery of rock carvings and fragments of pottery on the near Cordola hill suggests the presence of a community who coul have inhabited the area during the Bronze Age.
Next to the cemetery there is San Grato Chapel, a baroque building, and in front of it is possible to see an interesting picture of the town and on the surrounding hills. The same Fiorentino hill is important because of the outcrop of the deep layers of rock.
