And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name, now Dasher, now Dancer, now Prancer and Vixen, on Comet, on Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen, to the top of the porch, to the top of the wall, now dash away, dash away, dash away all
The poem, "The Night Before Christmas", has been translated into many languages, but for this puzzle we will use the German spelling for Donner and Blitzen. Donner and Blitzen, translated into english is, Thunder and Flash, or literally, Thunder and Lightning. When researching this information I found some interesting facts. There is the Donner and Blitzen River, located in Oregon, it was named by German settlers who crossed it during a thunder and lightning storm. There is also, now a ghost town near the river, called Blitzen. There is the Donner and Blitzen toy company and of course, Santa's reindeer. If you go with thunder and lightning, there is an album by Thin Lizzy of that name, the Oklahoma Thunder basketball team, and the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team, but enough about that. What I really wanted to say was, thanks for all the comments about the series, I did enjoy creating all the puzzles, and since this is the last of the series, I wanted to give you a present ...
