The Battenfield House was subject to two different mass murders within its walls. The first involved a woman poisoning several of her family members because she liked to go to social events, and the murders would supply the social contact she so desperately wanted. The second murder seems to be lost in history, though it is known that it happened. Nowadays, there have been ghostly flames that emanate from the upstairs, though they provide no heat or burn.

The cache is a medium snaplock container hidden in a typical way. Please access this cache from the trails in the park, please do not attempt this cache from Shepardsville Rd.
Sleepy Hollow is a State Park, so either a Michigan DNR Recreation Passport or a fee is required to enter the park in a motor vehicle.
Please also be aware that hunting is allowed in this park certain times of the year, so please be careful and dress appropriately when hunting is allowed.
