Geocache Description:

A short walk to another place and time.

Jiigibiig means beach in Ojibway. This cache is a peanut butter jar wrapped in black tape and is located a leisurely 12 minutes from the Boom Camp Cross Country Ski Trails parking lot.  Take the middle path, straight ahead, passing the Biathlon Shooting Range on the left.  Please note this cache is not available during the winter because walking on the trails during ski season is not allowed.

Even though the trails are well marked, it still might be a good idea to waypoint the parking lot to ensure a direct return to your vehicle.

Once you have located the cache, collect your bonus by exploring the immediate area.  At the end of the trail, walk 150 feet up the rock outcroppings to the right, turn around, and enjoy!  You are looking at the North Channel of Lake Huron.  Off on the horizon you can see Manitoulin Island, the largest freshwater island in the world!

At the bottom of the rock outcroppings go right a short distance to pick up a trail that will take you to a special place less than 100 yards away.  Take some time to sit and enjoy before returning the way you came.
