Bjärs hög.
Alldeles bakom Bjärs gård i Norrlanda på väg ner mot Hammars ligger ett gigantiskt röse från bronsåldern - 55 x 6 meter stort och 5 meter högt. Den är täckt med gräs och är enl. Uppgift Gotlands enda helt övertäckta bronsåldersröse.
När denna grav anlades låg den nära en havsvik och sitt namn har den fått efter gården Bjärs.
På norra sidan är det en del gropar som tros vara resterna efter nedgrävda källare.
Från högen kan man se tre närliggande husgrunder från järnåldern. Kanske är de resterna efter den allra första gården här vid Bjärs.
Ängen runt röset används för betande djur, så det är inte lämpligt att ta med en hund till gravarna. Själva cachen ligger utanför ängen så där är det inget hundproblem.
Cachen är en liten lock&lock burk med loggremsa, penna och lite bytessaker.

Eng. This cache is placed to show a gigantic burial mound from the Bronze Age. It is 55x6 meters big and 5 meters high. It is totally covered with grass and that is the only burial mound like this on Gotland.
It has got its name from the farm Bjärs next to it and was originally close to the sea.
There are some holes in it on the north side and these are believed to be from dug down cellars.
From the mound, you can see the remains of three houses from the Iron Age. Maybe they are the remains of the first farm on Bjärs.
The area around the mound is used by grazing cattle, so you may not want to bring a dog in there, but the cache is placed outside so there is no problem by the cache.
The cache is a small lock&lock box containing log sheet, pencil and some swags.
