Old Rifle Pit Campground
Rifle Pit Campground was a forest service campground that was abandoned somtime before the new highway was built. The campground was partway up the hill from where you parked. There used to be a great big willow tree close to the highway and water there. All was removed with the new highway being built.
This is a quick park and grab. you are looking for a bison tube. Please do not drive through the gate. It is forest service land but the road is not authorized for motor vehicles.
While you are here stretch your legs with a short stroll up the road to get the Kids' Treasure Chest too.
