Geocache Description:

The Freedom Bridge is named for its original location in Freedom, Indiana. The 300-foot bridge now takes the Wabash & Erie Canal Association's historic Monon Trail over the Hoosier Heartland Corridor. It was designed and built by the Lafayette Bridge Company in 1898 and was moved to its current location and dedicated in the spring of 2015. We hope you will enjoy it and our cache.

This is our first time placing a Mystery Cache so we would love any feedback you have to offer.

The coordinates for this cache bring you to a tree next to the parking lot for the bridge and also an access point to the Monon Trail.  You will need the following information to find the cache, which is located at N 40° 35.ABC  W 086° 39.DBE.

This cache is going to require you to pay close attention to the decorative stones around this bridge.  Some of the stones also have random numbers engraved into them which you may need to know.

The West side of the bridge is the side closest to the parking lot and the East side is the side with the American Flag and Memorial on it.  When we say stones we are only referencing the big decorative ones, not the smaller ones used to make the wall.  Also, when we counted the stones, we started on the south side of the bridge entrance and continued counter clockwise.

A = # of stones around the tree at the starting point minus the # of bench stones on the ground on the East side of the bridge.

B = # of vertical stones under the sign on the West side of the bridge.

C = The # on the 4th bench stone on the ground on the East side minus the # on the 12th bench stone in the same group of stones.

D = The smaller # on the 9th bench stone on the East side minus the sum of the digits of the larger number on the same stone.

E = F --G

F = # of stones on the ground on the East side plus # of stones on the wall on the East side.

G = # on the last bench stone on the ground on the East side minus the # on the 1st bench stone on the same side.
