Geocache Description:

For the Waukesha READS-NEA Big READ for 2016 we are reading To Kill a Mockingbird. This cache will have you visiting some places similar to important settings in the book. You might also want to stop by the library and get a copy of the book. They are available for free through mid-October 2016 or until supplies run out. You don't have to read the book to solve the cache, but it is a good book.

One of the most memorable settings in this book is represented at this first stage. During the trial, Tom Robinson would have had to come to a building like this. Imagine his fear as he entered - not knowing what the outcome would be. Many of the spectators and even Tom himself may have been forced to another part of the building to enter. When you are here, look at the numbers in the glass on the building near this waypoint. You will need the last digit to find the final.

The final is at this waypoint: N43 00.X54 W88 14.500 Use the last digit from the number in the glass to replace the X in this waypoint. Gifts mysteriously appeared in an oak tree In to Kill a Mockingbird. The only mystery is finding the right tree. This is a pretty quiet park, but as always, keep your eyes open for muggles. After you find the cache you might want to talk a walk through the park and find another, more famous, oak tree in Waukesha's History. Both the Waukesha County Historical Society and the City of Waukesha Parks and Recreation Dept. have granted permission for cache locations on their property.
