Geocache Description:

Another in my continuing series of rural cemetery caches in Iowa.  The cache is just outside the cemetery, but as with all cemeteries, be respectful of the area, do not stop to find this cache at night or during any ceremony. Remember to CITO.

Container courtesy of lurae26.

You will need a TOTT to retrieve and replace.

Tiny cemetery with 3 burials but only one marker that I saw.

copied from iagenweb:

There are burials in the very southwest corner of section 26. I contacted Mrs Paul Winslow in 1969 and she told me that the family had handed down the knowledge that their great great grandfather Rufus Winslow was buried there. She also thought that Elsie Tando was buried in the cemetery and an Indian boy. The court records show 3 persons who are probably buried there: Rufus Winslow, male, white, 75 yrs old, farmer, died Nov 13, 1887, married, born in Penn, 16 yrs resident of Taylor county, died in Grove township, buried in Grove township Nov 15, 1887; Hattie Tando, female, white, 20 yrs old, maid of all work, died Jul 10, 1888, single, born Lee county, Ill, 18 yr resident of Iowa, died Grove twp, buried Tando's cemetery Jul 11, 1888; and no name, male, white, 3 months, died Feb 6, 1889, single, buried Grove cemetery, Tandax cemetery Feb 7, 1889, born Grove township.
