Geocache Description:

Three Lakes claims to be "The Single Best" town in America. Well, that's quite a claim, what makes it so? Is it the location, the cultural history of the place or the atmosphere and charm of this sleepy little northwoods town this claim is chained to? This new series will give you a little insight into this puzzling question and perhaps an answer of your own.

When we come up for our annual family vacation in Three Lakes, we spend most of out time at St. Stan's Cabin but on occasion find ourselves hunting around for a Five Star experience. Not easy given our selective sensibilities that needs appeal to our four member family. Turns out there are plenty of 5 star opportunities in town.

I've been a contributor to Trip Advisor for years and have come to trust the community appraisals of establishments, at least enough to make some informed decisions based on patron feedback. Nonetheless, I was a little surprised to see what the Top Five attractions were in Three Lakes - or at least that I hadn't been to 4 of the Top 5 rated experiences! As usual, I dug into each of the TA reviews to get an idea what I was missing. You might want to do this as well. If you do, you may discover what I did.

One of the Five attarctions is a trail that meanders from Three Lakes to Eagle River and it's a trail we ride every year. If you've cached in this area, I suspect you already know this trail and members of its namesake quite well. It is a great woodsy experience for the most part, but does have an odd break about 9 miles north where it forces a short ride on country roads, until you get to the trail head off Section I road. We love to stop on its scenic bridges which span wild cranberry bogs and its boardwalk over Mud Creek named after E supportive females.

As we bike the trial we quickly come across another of the top 5 attractions just a few mikes north of Three Lakes. Although we have yet to stop in, the exterior speaks volumes about what is contained inside, which is reportedly a collection of HCFB theme related items. All of the TA reviews say this is a must and best of all, it's FREE!

Before you even leave Three Lakes, you pass right by this attraction which offers a variety of samples for anyone interested in their products. Indeed, most patrons will find themselves sampling J varieties before deciding on which one to bring back to the campfire and share with the family.

Another attraction in town offers a wide variety of programming including a summer youth program, but you can't just drop off the kids since anyone G and under requires adult supervision. In the space where you experience their programming, you can have a name tag affixed to a seat to show your support for a mere $2AB dollars.

Finally, in the About section for this last of the top 5 attractions, the town is mentioned a total of D
times, excluding the inset logo and non-profit summary paragraph. It has a fun historical Gallery page where you'll discover many pictures of the town and people enjoying the Chain of Lakes.

Speaking of 5 Stars, I noticed that there aren't very many hides around Three Lakes with ratings above 2 stars in either difficulty or terrain, and that's a shame given all the inrcediable bodies of water and infinate possibilities for unique hides and puzzles. I decided that this Fifth and last cache in the Three Lakes series needed to be a 5/5. I've been eyeing up this location for years and decided that this was the year to put a final excalmation point on the series make it one hellofan experice to remember.

Please use extreme caution and good judgment of your abilities when you go after this final. This one will separate the men from the boys and by that I mean the boys have a better shot at it than most of the men I know.

I think a selfie of yourself at the final would be most appropriate and I suggest an easy morning excursion for the find.

PLEASE FIND THE FIRST FOUR CACHES IN THE --- THREE LAKES | --- SERIES BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS FINAL CACHE.
