Geocache Description:

In the past, a geocacher who was interested in seeing the Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF) had to travel to Seattle. But beginning last year, GIFF events were held around the world, and they will be again this year. So you can see the 2016 finalist films right here in Marysville.

On the weekend of November 3-7 only, geocachers will host geocaching events at which these films will be shown publicly for the first time. The City of Marysville Parks & Recreation department, in conjunction with the WSGA Parks Liaison Program, has graciously allowed me to rent the Rotary Ranch, a relatively new facility in Jennings Park, that they don't normally rent. In it are two nicely sized TV screens, chairs, and other accoutrements. Come join your neighbors, in your neighborhood (more or less) and watch how creative some geocachers are. An entertaining time is sure to be had.

About this event:
  • What? Geocaching International Film Festival
  • When? Friday, November 4, 2016; 6:30p. The show will start promptly at 7pm, and last about an hour.
  • Where? Jennings Park, Marysville, WA, in the Rotary Ranch. It's where the petting zoo used to be, but it has been recently renovated for classes and the like. If it's warm, we'll open the big doors, but that seems unlikely, given the date.
  • Who? Anybody -- really! It makes no difference if you geocache or not - you are most welcome to join us in the fun. However, those under 18 years of age need to have one of their adults to keep track of them. (Not it!)
  • Why? Well, why not?

  • There are at least three geocaches in reasonable proximity to the event.
  • I could do with help to set up before, and close down when we're done. If you're available, let me know.
  • There will be a logbook available.
  • I'm hoping to hold a raffle. Depending on the number of attendees we have, donations will be gratefully accepted. One ticket per person and you must be present to win.
