The Cheap Seats Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

CacheJammers: The construction on Lansdowne 2.0 has started, and unfortunately this cache is now inside the construction fencing for the new event centre.

I do not believe Lansdowne envisions there being any cheap seats like these with the new facility. Once the new event centre is built, this cache location will be gone.

For this reason I’m archiving this cache. I’d like to thank the 500 people or so who explored this location. I hope you enjoyed the view and maybe a game.

Geocache Description:

Easy cache at Lansdowne Park if you're up for stretching your legs. Please bring your own pencil or pen. If you visit this cache on a game day, part of the challenge is finding, retrieving, signing and replacing the cache without drawing the attention of fans. Yes, you can do it! Log your story.

A rudimentary stadium was built here in the 1870s, and a full stadium has stood here since 1908. The stadium was named Frank Clair Stadium from 1993-2014 after a coach-turned-general-manager of the Ottawa Rough Riders who was part of the organization from 1956 until 1978.The stadium is now named TD Place. Looking in the opposite direction, the "front yard" of Lansdowne is used for concerts and community events. The Rideau Canal just beyond is a UNESCO world heritage site.

This cache is placed with the permission of park management, who has advised park security about the cache.
