Oakwood Cemetery, perhaps one of the area's least known cemeteries, lies hidden off of Will Carleton Road near the Huron Township/Flat Rock border. It is the peaceful resting place of 495 souls. Locals will recognize the family names of Rinne, Van Horn, and Felt as many of the nearby roads carry those same names. Perhaps the most famous of those interned here is Michael Vreeland; a Revolutionary War patriot who also founded Flat Rock.
The cemetery entrance is north off of Will Carleton Road, just east of the Country Meadows Mobile Home Park, located at 3211 Will Carleton Road, Flat Rock, Michigan. It is west of U.S. 24 and east of Interstate Highway I-275.
