Geocache Description:

The cache container is not at the posted coordinates in the water. Solve the puzzle to find the cache. The container is a 3.5 cup lock and lock type plastic container. You will have to bushwhack about 200' through open woods to reach the cache location. If there is much snow this cache will be much harder to find.

I’ve always been fascinated by strange words and one I ran across is Quetzal. As well as being a tropical bird, the Quetzal is a unit of currency. It takes 7.56 Guatemalan Quetzals to equal one U.S. Dollar at the current exchange rate so you can see that a Quetzal has a certain intrinsic value. W.C. Fields also knew the comedic value of words and would develop skits around some words he found interesting like ‘kumquats’ ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y189-69cQPs ).

The Nobel Prize winning physicist Richard Feynman was fascinated by the word ‘Kyzyl’, which is the capitol city of Tuva. In doing research about Kyzyl he became interested in their unique ‘throat singing’ that kind of grows on you. ( https://youtu.be/VTCJ5hedcVA ) . To Feynman, Kyzyl had a value in being a mysterious location in the old USSR. He saw the name on a map and wanted to go there but unfortunately he died just as he was granted permission from the Soviet Government.

So this puzzle is based on words and how we see and use them. Like some of my other puzzles you can count on this puzzle being relatively easy IF you see how I used words here. Some people may already have all the information they need to solve this puzzle at home but others may have to use Google to find the info. No information is hidden and other than the simple info I mentioned that you may have to look up, everything you need is in plain view on this page. If you are instructed to do a mathematical task, do it. If it doesn’t add up and make sense, you probably haven’t figured out the puzzle. The puzzle will be a whole lot easier if you treat this as a game and not a chore.

Latitude north forty two degrees
Subtract sixty five from whole minutes
Add nine hundred forty to decimal minutes

Longitude west could be close to around seventy one degrees
Twenty minutes
Add eight hundred to decimal minutes

Congratulations to Boston Brewins for being first to solve and FTF!
Obviously they were on their A game!
