Growing up in Brisbane in the 80's, long bike rides along Kedron brook were often segmented by pitstops at the various Mulberry trees growing on public land.
Mulberry trees were a backyard staple and I am sure many of us have fond memories of the purple stained hands and faces following a feast of these delicious berries.
Most kids at some point also had silkworms as a pet and it was always difficult to find enough leaves to keep the worms healthy and happy.
Earlier this year whilst exploring this section of the bikeway I discovered this stretch that is completely lined with Mulberry trees.
If you head along in fruiting season, there is enough trees here to eat your fill and maybe even take some home to make a pie.
If you happen to visit in winter, the mulberry trees are the bare trees (they are decidious) lining the creek in front of you.
Sorry in advance to any locals if I am letting out your 'secret' but this location is too good to keep to yourselves!
Cache is a small sistema container - large enough for small swaps.
Congratulations to 1MinnieMoo for being the FTF!
