The Environmental Learning Center is located on nearly 200 acres of beautiful and ecologically diverse open space, rich in both cultural and natural history. Hikers will enjoy more than 2.5 miles of trails with a variety of trail surfaces including natural surfaces, in addition to well-manicured trails. Two Grand River tributaries, Big Creek and Jordan Creek, run through this property.
Geocachers will enjoy this hike into the woods at the Lake Metroparks Environmental Learning Center. Starting from the parking lot pick up the trail adjacent to the south side of the main building. Placed fairly deep on the proeperty expect to hike a variety of terrain. Sections of the trail are root covered and can be muddy at times as it is located along a foot trail that is not one of the parks more traditional crushed limestone style trails.
