The naked truth (Corsica)
While snorkeling at the very nice beach of Bussaglia I came across a nice rocky island, that rose far above the sea. The first attemt to clip this rock ended up with a bleeding wound in my leg (I was a bit careless). But then I found I better way to leave the water and (after removing my fins and mask) I could climb up. A great view from here. This place deserved a cache! So back to the beach to get my cachestuff. I decided not to swim all the was back but to walk, for that would be much quicker. So I swam to the shore and left the water. Fully dressed in my wetsuit, gloves and (a big) knife. The people at the beach looked at me rather strange. This place turned out to be a nude-beach ! I had three options: to go back into the sea, undress my self too or just denie the fact that everyone else was naked... I chose option 3 because that was the quickest way to leave this beach ;-) .
The same ceremony occured when I went back with my cachestuff. This time I was also carring a large yellow waterproof bag. When I placed the cache and entered the beach for the third time a scarsely dressed somewhat older man asked me what I was up to. When I answered I was busy playing a game he asked to join me and play this game too… However when I explained that I was only geocaching and that he neaded at least a telephone (that het obviously was not carrying – at least I would not know were …) he lost interest. Then I spoke to another man only covered with tatoos about the hide and search game of geocaching. Well, he wasn't hiding much too, that was clear. By then I found it was time to leave this place.
This rock is magnificent for climbing. A good place for a climbing cache ... Since it is not an official route (yet) it has no sportclimbing rating (3a to 6c), but I would rate it as 3a to 5a, depending on which route you take. And the climb is worth it. But be careful. A fall is probely lethal. So take good care. And remember: better a DNF than a DNS (did not survive).
Take the route you can can manage. If you do, you can have great fun with this cache. One advise: if you say you "are searching for something" to the naked men on the beach you might end up in another game ;-) .
The cache
The cache is located at the top of the rock. Look for a transparant petling. The petling contains a pen. Put the cache back the way you found it (or better if it was visible).
