Placed along the Carl "Bud" Schmitt River Trail of Illinois, a converted rail path that runs along
the former Illinois Terminal Railroad Co. through East Peoria to Morton. Cache location is available to bikers on the trail or via a modest walk from nearby parking.
The location overlooks a Caterpillar facility known as Building AD, which houses a significant portion of the company's computer network and data infrastructure. During the spring flood of 2013, fears that the historic water level in the channel would top the levee and flood the structure forced company management to evacuate Building AD and other East Peoria facilities for several days. The water was only inches from topping the levee when it finally began to recede.
