Welcome to the Gamlin Lake Trail System. Trails are well maintained and clearly marked. This area is open to recreational use. No motorized vehicles, however. Pick up a trail map at the entrance, where there is parking and a vault toilet. There are a number of caches in the area. I thought there should be more! Enjoy your hike, and BRING INSECT REPELLANT in mosquito/fly season.
The signal in this area is not the most reliable. The cache is uphill from the trail. You will hop the small creek and then climb - not too far. Depending on your access point, maybe +/- 150 feet. Look for a large downed tree forming a horizontal log. The cache is on the uphill side of the log, under bark. Pretty obvious to cachers, but I hope not on the muggle path.
The cache contains some swag, along with a log book and a couple of pencils. There is a FTF prize - one which RLDrosophila and I are "paying forward," as we earned it ourselves very recently as a FTF prize.
Enjoy the area. Please trade fairly, remembering that this is "critter country." Nothing edible, liquid, or aromatic.
Congratulations to Martin 5 on his First to Find!
